Massillon, OH. February 13, 2026 – Recycled materials have been used in construction for some time. Most homeowners are familiar with composite lumber, made from plastic and wood fibers, but overall its cost exceeds that of traditional materials. We all want to do our part by participating in the circular economy, but these recycled materials can be cost prohibitive for homeowners on a budget, causing them to revert to traditional materials when planning a large project.
The Insulation we have throughout our homes is made from polystyrene, sometimes referred to as Styrofoam™, one of the most difficult polymers to recycle. Massillon-based, PolyKinetix®, has been recycling sheets of polystyrene insulation, repurposing them in a sense, to give them a second life. Instead of discarding the insulation ripped from their construction sites, local contractors can contact PolyKinetix® for its disposal. Contractors can also order sheets of insulation at discounted prices directly from the plant, which should result in welcome savings for their clients.
PolyKinetix® uses a proprietary closed-loop, zero process emissions system—extending its
revolutionary new technology to the recycling of all polymers.
